If you attend the high pressure sales spiel (intended to get you to sign into a timeshare type thing), then you will get your freebie, but they will be high-pressured. Oh well, it was a nice 5 mins while I thought I was getting a family holiday for less than 30.
If it's per person then thats nearly 120 before we even get started.
I reckon I would be prepared to sit through a 2 hour presentation and then say no to everything if we were getting a week for 30 all in.
But like they say, 'there's no such thing as a free lunch! i'll give you as mich info as poss as we used to be members of Club la Costa...
and they can leave it to their offspring when they die!
If we could afford it, I think we'd take it up again..for the time being it will be cheap as chips caravans for us!!! funny enough I had a clear out a few weeks back and only just got round to throwing all the brochures etc away or else I wouldve posted them to you!
firstly, overall yes they are trying to sell you a type of timeshare..reading now if the thought of that terrifies you..
but although we're no longer members (i'll explain further down why), its not all bad news...
personally for a young family like us (me, DH,2x DD), the cost couldnt be justified as it would be cheaper for us to book a year in advance or alternatively look for a last minute deal. they cant use the free week (unless you go with them)..you coul charge them for accommodation - the company advise you to do this to recoup some of your own costs! there are many benefits to the scheme - its not a con or fraudulent or anything dodgy - just a way that many people like to spend their lives..inheritable so many older people like it as they can quite literally sell their homes, stay in hotels etc through the scheme and it would be cheaper than them staying at home paying council tax etc..
Thanks for all that info Louise, it's been very helpful.
I think we will turn it down, as there is no way we could afford those prices.
I have just had a phone call from Club La Costa following a survery I did last year.
The 'great news' is that I have won a holiday for 4 to be taken in the next 18 months.
